what do you think is significant about ammon telling the king "i will be thy servant"? when have you seen service lead to opportunities to share the gospel?
--> the ultimate example of a servant leader is Jesus Christ. He came to earth and served everyone He came in contact with. whether he was walking down the street or in someone's home, walking around the city, or preaching to a congregation, He was always looking for ways to bless and serve the people around Him.
ammon followed the Savior's perfect example when he approached the king with the servant leader mindset. he didn't try to shove the gospel down his throat first. he asked to be a humble servant, and he did it out of the love of his heart. he wasn't seeking ulterior motives. as he served the king and the king's people, the king grew to love him and trust him. it was then that he listened to the words of ammon. what a great example.
