what are examples today of following the words of the prophets to protect and defend ourselves?
--> lately the prophets and apostles have talked a TON about guarding ourselves spiritually. the book of mormon stories are all about how people protected themselves physically for battle. there are many applications to our spiritual lives from these stories. they took great measures to prepare for battle by fortifying themselves and guarding their lands and bodies. similarly, it is upon us to take measures to fortify ourselves spiritually so that when something does arise we are prepared to deal with it. i am personally trying to be better at spiritually fortifying myself through daily scripture study and prayer...the little things are really the big things :)
