2 nephi 16:1 - 17:25
isaiah chapters are often challenging to understand but always full of symbolism and lessons. what do you learn from these verses as isaiah is called to prophecy?
--> one phrase that really sticks out to me in this passage is in verse 10 - "understand with their heart, and be converted and be healed." we are all seeking healing and conversion. we are naturally drawn to things that we are passionate about. we have an innate desire to connect with other people and understand things in a way that will benefit our lives. in this particular verse, isaiah is given council that people will see marvelous things but won't perceive what's happened, they will hear marvelous things, but won't understand. his call is to go and "shut their eyes" so they can understand with their heart. then, and only then, when spirit speaks to spirit, will they be converted and true healing will occur.
how true that is in our world today as well.
