2 nephi 2:30 - who do you know that has "chosen the good part" like lehi? in what ways would you like to follow their example?
--> after lehi gives a great discourse about agency and choosing eternal life over eternal damnation, choosing light over darkness, goodness over bad, he says to them "i have chosen the good part". this is such a loving display of "hey, here's some things i've learned through my life, and hey, i did it and it totally works!" they had a great example to follow and saw through that example what joy and peace a life close to the Savior could bring.
my mom is a perfect example of choosing the good part. just one example is whenever someone is speaking poorly about someone - whether it be a disagreement they had with someone else or petty gossip, or even a passing comment about someone, my mom chooses to always see the good in people. she's they type that will say something nice about that person and build them up. as you know, being around people like that, it's hard to ever gossip about someone again because you know they won't join in. i know she will always choose the good part in terms of the way she speaks about people when they're not around. i love that about her and wish to adopt that. i feel about my mom the way nephi felt about lehi - a great example to follow and pattern life after.
