mormon 2: 1 - 16
in what ways is the sorrowing that mormon hoped for different from the sorrowing he actually witnessed? how can you support those who are truly sorrowing unto repentance?
--> mormon thought the people were sorrowing unto repentance... that they truly felt bad about what they had done and were turning their hearts to God. but he was wrong.. they were sorrowing because the Lord wouldn't allow them to "take happiness in sin". so, rather than have a broken heart and contrite spirit, they cursed God and wished to die (#morbid). when there are people in my life that are truly sorrowing unto repentance, i can support them by showing them love. it's hard to by empathetic or even sympathetic because you just can't understand all that they are going through. but, no matter what, i can show love and acceptance to them. sometimes in those deepest, darkest, rock bottom times, that's all you need.
