1 nephi 7:16 - 8:15

in 1 nephi 8:12, how can you relate to lehi's feelings in your life?

--> i have a strong belief that when we experience good things in life: joy, peace, love, happiness, and other healthy emotions, we naturally want to share them with someone.  often those emotions are the result of an interaction or experience shared with someone in the first place.  but i know that when something truly makes me happy or excited, i want to tell everyone i love about it.  when lehi partakes of the fruit of the tree of life and feels that "exceedingly great joy", it's perfectly fitting that he immediately wants to share it.  i think that says a lot about his character and his values.

a time in my life when i felt this way was as a full-time missionary.  i served in the beautiful city of calgary, canada, and i can never remember a time in my life when i was so excited to talk about the gospel and share the joy with everyone i came in contact with.  there is a quote in preach my gospel that says "as your understanding of the atonement grows, your desire to share the gospel will increase".  i believe that with all my heart.  as we come to recognize the important, special parts about this life and the experiences we can have when we choose Jesus Christ to be our Savior, we naturally want other people to experience those too.

one of the best, most fulfilling ways i've been able to experience joy in my life is by serving others.  to read about how this can bless your life more, click here.
