mosiah 12:17 - 13:4

why is knowing the commandment not enough to qualify us for salvation?

--> i have a quote hanging on my mirror that cute hannah jenkins gave us in relief society one day.  it says "knowing that the gospel is true is the essence of a testimony.  consistently being true to the gospel is the essence of conversion."

we also hear time and time again that faith without works is dead.  we can believe in something all we want, proclaim it from the rooftops, even, but until we act on what we believe, it is dead to us.  we won't be judged on how much we know, but how much we do.  ultimately, Heavenly Father's plan is that the more we come to know about Him and the gospel, the more we will be inspired to do righteous things.  as we do those righteous things, we are given more light and knowledge, and the process of growth and change continues.

i am grateful for this refining process, and the capacity to go and do what i know to be true.
