mosiah 18: 1 - 16

how can you relate these verses to yourself or people you've seen accept the gospel?

--> verse 11 has always struck me.  alma has been preaching to them the word of God.  he gives them the conditions of baptism, then says that if that's the desire of their hearts, what do they have against being baptized.  verse 11 says, "and now when the people had heard these words, they clapped their hands for joy, and exclaimed This is the desire of our hearts."

i LOVE watching the joy of the gospel seep into someone's heart.  there is a visible light that comes into their eyes and lives when they realize the truthfulness of the gospel and what it can mean to them in their lives.  that joy is irreplaceable and cannot be found in any earthly thing.  it is a foreshadowing, just a small, small taste of the eternal joy that we can feel in the next life, when all is said and done.
