the word "betwixt" means between. what do you think it means that the Savior stands betwixt us and justice? what do you think it means to satisfy the demands of justice?
--> justice and mercy have to work hand-in-hand in God's eternal plan. God is perfectly just: there are conditions and stipulations that have to be met in order to qualify for eternal life in His presence. Christ, on the other hand, is merciful. by coming to this earth and completing His mission, which included and climaxed with the Atonement, He paid the price for our sins, therefore satisfying the demands of justice. He stands as the mediator between us and Heavenly Father. because of His perfect mercy, it will all work out.
