jacob 4: 1 - 18

why do people sometimes reject "words of plainness" and seek instead for things they cannot understand?  what are some dangers of overlooking the simple truths of the gospel?

--> i was talking about this very concept this morning with my family during family scripture study.  we were talking about when the people of moses simply had to look to the serpent and be healed but because of the easiness of the way, many people didn't do it.  they didn't believe that something so simple could heal them - they didn't have the faith to even look.

i was asking my dad what would've happened if they didn't believe it would heal them, but if they looked anyway, did he think they would still be healed.  he said that looking was faith enough.  by looking, they showed that they believed in the simpleness of the way, no matter how silly it seemed.  those that chose to follow the simple command lived.

it's the same in our lives.  the gospel principles are simple.  when we follow them, we are blessed.  enough said.
