jacob 5: 1 - 18

according to jacob 5:3, what began to happen to the tame olive tree?  what does the decay of the tree symbolize?

--> i've always loved the phrase that is repeated over and over in this chapter that "it grieveth me that i should lose this tree".  the master of the vineyard can't bear to lose even one tree from his vineyard.  he goes to great lengths to nourish and keep all of them.

and so it is with our Heavenly Father in our lives.  He can't bear to lose any of us, so He goes to great lengths and gives us chance after second chance time and time again.

when i was working closely with a boy named ferny about a year and a half ago, he said, "i can't believe how far Heavenly Father went out of His way to snatch me up and bring me home."  i've thought a lot about that phrase.  Heavenly Father didn't go out of His way at all, but He did interfere in many ways to bring Ferny back to the fold.  and so He does for us all.  because He loves us.  so so much.  <3
