what are some ways we can show through our dress and appearance that we are disciples of Jesus Christ? 

--> growing up in the church, i always knew modesty was important.  we are taught from a young age to be modest in our dress.  i never really struggled with modesty, but i didn't ever really understand why it was so important.  there seemed to be such an emphasis on dressing modestly so you will attract the right guys, or to keep the men's minds in clean places, etc.  this always bothered me.  it wasn't until post-high school and possibly even on the mission that i realized why we are modest. 

now, i dress modestly because i respect myself and the body that Heavenly Father gave me.  i dress modestly because i know that i am a daughter of God with infinite worth and am given the commission to take care of myself in this mortal state.  i dress modestly because i love Jesus Christ and understand His role in my life.  i dress modestly because the gospel doctrines and principles have become more than just what i do, they have become who i am.
