why do you think the Lord requires us to forgive others? how are repenting and forgiving others connected?
--> there is a freeing that occurs when we forgive. when we harbor judgment or resent, we aren't able to fill the full portion of the spirit of the Lord. it is restrained when all is not right. i can say from personal experience that when i am at peace with others, i am at greater peace with myself. when i forgive others, i am able to more easily see them as the Lord sees them and able to feel of His love for them, which in turn allows me to feel a greater portion of His love for me. repenting is a turning of the heart toward God. a change. as we forgive, our capacity to love grows as our heart expands and we can feel again.
