3 nephi 11: 1 - 17

the people went to the Savior "one by one until they had all gone forth".  what does this teach you about how the Savior feels about each one of us?  what thoughts and feelings would you have had if you had been among the nephites when the Savior visited them?

--> this has long since been my favorite chapter in the book of mormon.  i love everything about it.  i love the climax that it is in the book of mormon: the crowning event.  i love the Savior's invitation - to BRING people to Him.  he didn't just say come and feel my hands and feet, He asked for the people that were sick or afflicted to be brought to Him, meaning the sick and the whole had to come together.  the fact that He took time to meet and greet with each person one on one shows such care and concern.  He was just as excited to see each of them as they were to see him.  He was there to minister and love.  this account speaks more to me about what it means to have Christlike love than any other chapter in modern scripture.  i like to just imagine myself there.  the imagery is so real:

"as they cast their eyes up again towards heaven; and behold they saw a Man descending out of heaven; and he was clothed in a white robe; and he came down and stood in the midst of them; and the eyes of the multitude were turned upon him, and they durst not open their mouths... and he stretched forth his hand and spake unto the people saying: behold, i am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.  and behold, i am the light and the life of the world."
