how can we tell if we are beginning to reject the words of the prophet in our personal lives? what will happen to us if we reject the Lord's latter day prophets?
--> to me, one of the "radars" i can use to take a spiritual "temperature" is rationalization. i find that the more i am trying to rationalize things that i am doing in my life, the further i am drifting from the teachings of the prophets and the Savior. rationalization and justification are one of satan's greatest tools. once we start justifying the choices we are making, we step further and further away from the light. unfortunately, that is a prevalent attitude in the world today. also, comparing our righteousness with other people's righteousness can be detrimental to our salvation because we start thinking things like "well, i'm not perfect, but i'm not as bad as _____" or "as long as i don't do _____ like ____ did, i'm ok...".
