how can our motives for doing righteous works affect the way we do them? what are some righteous motives that might inspire a person to pray or fast in secret?
--> one of my all-time favorite quotes is: "when we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live." if we care more about what God thinks than what anyone else thinks, then i believe we get more fulfillment out of whatever acts we are doing because we aren't doing it for the accolades of friends or the world, we aren't doing it to get noticed. we are doing it because we want to do it, to please the Lord, because we know it is the right thing to do, because Christ would do it if He were here, and we are His followers.
